Ray Pitrè’s bronze sculpture has been installed at MICAS as part of an exhibition curated by Joseph Paul Cassar.
The display highlights the artist’s creative journey, showcasing works spanning five decades, including ‘Figure in Rods,’ a piece derived from a 1960s concept and developed further in bronze and metal over the past six years. The exhibition on MICAS’ fourth level explores Pitrè’s recurring themes, particularly the hidden figure concept, which plays with ideas of concealment and revelation. These works reflect his engagement with existential angst and his forward-thinking artistic energy, evident in both his sculptures and accompanying drawings.
