Photographer Elisa Von Brockdorff, known for her vivid and colourful compositions, is preparing for her latest exhibition, ‘Pixels on a Picnic,’ at The Splendid in Valletta.
In this new showcase, she explores light more intentionally while working with different materials. Moving away from solid-coloured plastic objects used previously, Elisa now incorporates reflective materials like glass and mirrors, creating dynamic interactions of light and shadow. She draws inspiration from everyday, unassuming objects, often sourced cheaply, and integrates them into her work. Her creative process is influenced not only by other photographers but also by fashion, design, and the ordinary details of her surroundings. Elisa sees photography as a means of constructing a visual narrative, documenting a process rather than focusing solely on capturing a moment.
